Two years in, the opposite. A Business Insider essay about burning out after two years of working in AI, which Dinis wanted to read and pay for, showed him its headline, three paragraphs and adverts in three places, then a subscription offer: $12.95 every four weeks after a trial, or $49 for a year that renews at $149. He could neither buy the one essay nor answer it.
The article sets that against the newsroom's model, where trust is earned by reading and the reader pays for what they read, and against Dinis's own two years in AI: the most productive and empowered of his career, his inbox under control, hard and not linear, with Wardley maps showing the game.
Only what the page showed is quoted; the essay itself was not read, and this session could not fetch it. Figure prefix tw-.
