Top up

£5 of reading credit, paid on Stripe’s page. It is one payment: there is no account and no subscription, and nothing renews.

Where your data is kept. Your balance, history and receipts are kept in this browser’s storage. Your reading is not sent anywhere unless you choose to send it, and there is no account. This is a client-side application: the pages are static files, and what you read stays in your browser rather than on a server. That is how it is for now; if encrypted vaults are added, it will be said here. A new browser, a private window or clearing site data starts again with £5.00 and no history. Credit can go below zero, and no page is blocked. What can leave your browser, when you choose to, is a payment (made on Stripe’s own page), a subscription or a reading share: what leaves your browser, and when. How the meter works, and why it works this way.
