Two new articles written here from voice memos.
The citizen developer is good news: the employee, owner or expert building full applications is the evolution of the spreadsheet (49 of 54 audited spreadsheets with significant errors, the London Whale, England's 65,536-row test and trace loss), and the working app is the best brief ever written; the work is the handover from explorer to villagers and town planners, with versioned, encrypted vaults as a carrier for mini apps and their data. The AWS conference remark could not be traced; AWS's own definition is quoted instead.
Paying after the value: most purchases are bets on future value (gym members paying over $17 a visit when $10 was on offer; 21.5 percent no-shows for season tickets), while this newsroom's meter starts with £5 of credit, lets readers set or refuse the price, and allows the balance to go below zero for ever, so payment arrives when the value is in view. Why it needs near-zero cost to serve, why Wikipedia's yearly ask is hard, prices by purchasing power, a view of where the money goes, and the seven hypotheses reviewed on 6 December 2026. Three figures.
