v0.12.58: open a vault, or connect one; the vault's documentation in sync with the pane

The owner's two screenshots and the ask behind them (059): the aggregation is the point, so a browser that opens the vault now brings in what the vault holds on its own and the meter shows the account's balance; the locked pane offers the two ways in, Open with your passkey and Connect with a link, and names nothing first; after an explicit open the pane asks which device this browser is, one the vault knows or a new one, so two browsers can share a device and every write is combined with the file as it is; both directions are counted above the tabs; and a batch another browser sent is filed, where the vault is open, under a device the reader chooses, remembered for the next one. The design is admin/notes/2026-10-13__open-or-connect-a-vault.md.

And the vault's documentation brought into line with the pane (058): four tabs, nine one-tap kinds and the wire's six, a device file that carries notes and the stories seen, a send that rewrites the device file, where the keys and the local records live, and the inbox beside them; the activity vault's note gains a dated list of what the pane gained after its first build.

Not built: consolidating two devices the vault already has into one, automatic sync on a timer (029), a device choice on the sending side.
